William "Bill" Berry McEwan

August 6, 1950 — December 2, 2010

William "Bill" Berry McEwan 60, our beloved father, grandpa, brother, uncle, son and friend, of Springville passed away December 02, 2010 at Mountain View Hospital in Payson surrounded by his family after a brief battle with lung cancer.

Bill was born on August 06, 1950 in Provo, Utah to Mack William McEwan and Edna Norma Berry McEwan. Bill spent his childhood and teenage years in Provo, upon completion of High School; Bill joined the United States Navy in 1968 during the Vietnam War, traveling the world, as a cook. Bill was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1974. Upon his return from the Navy, Bill got a job, following in the footsteps of his father, driving 18 wheelers across the country, specializing in "oversized loads". Bill worked for numerous trucking companies over the years, but currently he was employed with Mountain Pacific Transport in Lindon, Utah, where he has worked for the past 17 years working alongside his son, Mark and one of his best friends Dj Kelau . Bill has earned many safety awards, over the years.

Bill married Bertha Martinez on August 10th, 1975. Together, they made their first home in Spanish Fork, Utah, where they raised their six children. Bill and Bertha were later divorced, but remained good friends. Bill enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, his siblings and many close friends. Bill loved camping, 4- wheeling, family bbq's, cooking for family and friends and shootin the bull with anyone he came in contact with. Bill made friends wherever he went; he touched the lives of many. He was a great man, a great father, grandfather, friend, son and brother always putting everyone else's needs in front of his own; Dad would give the shirt off of his back, even if he didn't have one to give.

Bill is survived by his six children and their spouses; Andrea McEwan-Smock (Scott) of Lehi, Corey McEwan (SuZan) of Spanish Fork, Mark McEwan (Charleen) of Spanish Fork, Matt McEwan (Caron) of Spanish Fork, Adam McEwan (Haley) of Santaquin , Casey McEwan of Payson and 14 ½ grandchildren, who thought the world of "Grandpa Bill". Bill is also survived by his siblings; Carolyn Gillian of Provo, Richard McEwan of Orem, Leslie Pettey, Payson, Jeff McEwan (Cathy) of Cedar Fort, Steve McEwan (Laurie) of Lindon, Greg "Chewy" McEwan of Provo and Mike McEwan (Mary) of Springville and numerous nieces and nephews, whom all loved "Uncle Bill". Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mac "Bill" and Edna McEwan, his Uncle Bryce and his nephew Seth McEwan.

Dad, we miss you already, holidays, birthdays, camping and get together's will not be the same without you, but we know that you are "truckin on the other side".
