William Guy Johnston Jr, 80, passed away on December 10, 2020 peacefully from natural causes.
He was born on August 26, 1940, in Elkins West Virginia to William Guy Johnston Sr. and his wife Shirley. He grew up on the farm and exhibited a lifelong work ethic that would be carried on through his own children.
As a young man, "Billie" spent much of his time fishing, hunting and participating in sports. He made the game winning shot to win his West Virginia high school State Basketball Championship. He was also proud of bagging the state record buck.
It was in high school that he met the love of his life, Beverly Moore. He married Beverly on October 26, 1961. On M-ay 10, 2006, they were sealed in the Manti Temple for time an all eternity. His greatest accomplishment was spending time with his family.
Billie was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held many positions in the church including Branch President.
"Billie" was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Beverly, his Mother, Father, Brother and his daughter Susan Anderson.
He is survived by his children: Debbie (Dave) Ferguson, Jeff Johnston, David Johnston and Donald Johnston, sisters Jean Stalnaker, Mary Olson, Diana Jackson and Marty Stewart, grand children Jake Jones, Jamie James, Derek Johnston, Ryan Johnston, AvRee Johnston, Tannin Bentley, Ashley Chatterton, Bradley Chatterton, Elyce Ferguson, Chelsea Graff, Koby Johnston, Morgan Johnston, Charlin Johnston, Sean Ferguson, Kyle Ferguson, Lucas Ferguson and eleven great grandchildren.
His cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by all that have known him. His loving heart left a beacon of light for all in his family and his community.
A viewing and service will be held at Wheeler Mortuary on Thursday, December 17, 2020 followed by interment at the Springville City Cemetery.
