William Conrad Parry

January 8, 1927 — May 16, 2010

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather, William "Bill" Conrad Parry, 83, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2010. He was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Winterquarters, Utah to John Conrad & Gladys Durrant Parry. He married Esther Houtz May 31, 1949 in the Idaho Falls Temple.



Bill enjoyed growing up in Castle Gate & Mapleton, Utah. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting & fishing. He served in the Navy shortly before World War II ended. He then served an LDS mission in Hawaii.



Bill had many callings in the church, including Bishop, High Councilman in Layton, Utah, & Stake Clerk in Mapleton for 20 years. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 23 years. Bill was an excellent handyman & loved modern technology.



Bill is survived by his wife, Esther & four daughters: Kathlyn (Vic), Janice (Tom), Diane (John), & Colleen (Jeff); 14 grandchildren & 17 1/2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Ray & sister, Helen Whitney.



Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at the white church in Mapleton, 31 West Maple. There will be a viewing held on Thursday, May 20, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W 400 N, Mapleton & Friday, 1 hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with full military rites.
