William Wade Bradford

May 9, 1935 — January 16, 2011

William Wade Bradford, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, died peacefully on January 16, 2011, in Provo, Utah, following complications of a heart attack.

Wade was born in Leland, Utah, on May 9, 1935, to Fred C. Bradford and Emma C. Peterson. He was raised and educated in Springville, Utah, where he worked on the family farm, participated in athletics, and remained an avid Red Devil fan.

Wade married his high school sweetheart, Connie (Constance) Aulene Banner, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 19, 1953. They were blessed with four beautiful daughters, who were the love of his life even though he was convinced they would each be a boy: Rosalyn (Elden) Twitchell, South Jordan, Utah; the late Yevonne (Morris) Johnson; Lynnette (Karl) Hayes, American Fork, Utah; and Lori (Rick) Bertelsen, Springville, Utah. They had 17 grandchildren, with 14 great-grandchildren and counting.

Wade and Connie also helped raise three children of Wade's sister, Doris B. Hill, who preceded him in death: Scott (Chris) Hill, Howard Hill, and Connie (Paul) Bartell.

Wade was quiet, very strong, and one of the smartest and hardest workers we have known. He was a skilled carpenter and superintendent over many large construction projects.

In his younger days he was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending countless hours on the Provo River and Strawberry Reservoir, in the fields, and on the mountains. He was known for his beautiful hand-tied flies, custom fly rods, and smoked trout. Another hobby was his garden, from which he and Connie shared the bounty with family, friends, and neighbors.

Wade was president of the local carpenters union for many years. He was an active member of the LDS church, a faithful home teacher, scout leader, high priests group leader, and friend.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws (Arch and Myrell Banner), his sister, a daughter, and a grandson.

Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Spring Creek Fourth Ward (400 East 400 North) in Springville, Utah. Viewing from 9:00 to 10:45 before the funeral only. Burial in the Springville Evergreen cemetery.

In memory of Wade, gather your family around you and spend time together, as he loved to do.

The family thanks doctors John Frischknecht and William Leroy for their many years of dedicated and supportive care, and the compassionate staff of the CVICU at UVRMC.
