Warren Karl Barton died November 18, 2020 after a long and full life of serving others. He was born on June 27, 1941 in Castle Dale, Utah to Warren Edson Barton and Stena Pearl Bott Barton. He had a childhood filled with the outdoors and learned to hunt, fish and work hard with his father. With his mother, he gained a love for music.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Central British Mission. Soon after, while attending BYU, he met his wife, Marcia Anderson. They were married in the SLC temple on August 11, 1966.
He held many different church callings including gospel doctrine teacher, a member of a bishopric and everything in between. He also served for 11 years as a temple ordinance worker in the Provo, Utah temple.
Education was important to him. He not only obtained many college degrees, he shared his love of learning and music as a teacher. He was known as "Mr. B" at Springville High School for 30 years! He loved his students and put his all into helping SHS choirs excel. When he wasn't teaching at the high school, you could find him gunsmithing, tying flies, working with the Springville Junior Rifle Club and even the High Uinta Mountain Man club. Oftentimes you would see one or more of his nine children with him while he did these things. He taught his kids how to work hard and achieve their goals.
As Karl got older, he had a harder time getting around. He didn't let this stop him! You would find him in the service of others almost all of his waking hours. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; his children Karl Jay (Rebecca), Raquel Halladay (E. Todd), Michelle Anderson
(Richard), Taun Q. (Lisa), Chris Kabe (Jessica), Weston Guy, Raine Gallacher (Mark), Candri Ann Webb (Travis); his siblings, Stena Carol Riding (Robert), Quinn Bott (Gayle); 24 grandkids and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Peart Grover (Randy), as well as his daughter, Kendily Davis (Blake).
We'll see ya, work hard, and be good, you old toad!
