Wallace Patrick passed away peacefully on June 28, 2012, at the age of 96. He was born in Springville, Utah on October 19, 1915 the second of nine children born to John and Lura Patrick.
After graduating from high school, Wallace attended classes at BYU. He was a veteran of WWII and a participant in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was the Assistant Post Master for Springville City. An avid reader and a talented writer throughout his life, Wallace gravitated toward work in the newspaper industry. He graduated from a typographical college in Chicago, and then enjoyed a career as a linotype operator with a newspaper agency in Los Angeles. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Wallace was blessed with a loving heart and a sensitive nature, both of which were reflected in the selfless way he cared for his family. He also exhibited a boundless sense of humor, which generated laughter and fun wherever he went. He was a hard-working, supportive father and grandparent. His posterity includes: 2 sons, 4 daughters, 9 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish their memories of his goodness to them throughout their lives.
In addition to his posterity, Wallace is survived by his brother, Morris (Terry) Patrick, and his sisters: Erma (Evan) Whitesides, Elma (Wayne) Evans, and Ann (Bry) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John (Ada Mae) Patrick, and three sisters: Louise (Frank) Springer, Marian (Irv) Wiseman, and an infant sister, Helen.
Family members are invited to meet at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 2nd, at the old Springville Fourth Ward building, 355 East Center, Springville, UT, to share their fondest memories of Wallace, prior to his burial at 11:30 AM in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
Wallace's family wishes to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Sunrise at Holladay in Salt Lake City, as well as the exceptional Inspiration Hospice nurses who cared for him. As he would say, "Thank you. You're good eggs!"
