Vonda was the daughter of Melvin Leon Holloway and Ellen Chidester Holloway. She lived in Richfield and Saint George while growing up with her two brothers, Larry and John. She enjoyed spending time with her grandfather, David LeRoy Chidester. She married Baker Valdez Ogden in the Manti Temple and moved to Springville where they lived for almost 22 years. Vonda enjoyed animals and the outdoors as well as sewing and doing puzzles. She loved bagpipe music and working in her yard. While living in Salem, she enjoyed having some chickens and ducks along with a goat for a while.
Vonda was a loving person who made everyone feel special and important. She worked in the Primary for many years and enjoyed being with children. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She died after an eight month battle with cancer. She died as she lived, surrounded by those who love her.
She is survived by her husband Val Ogden, children, grandchildren and great grandchild, Valerie and Earle Gardner, Thomas Gardner, and Denesia Gardner, Stefanie Ogden, Michael and Susan Ogden, Jessie and Brooke Newton, Chelsie Newton and her son Jerricko Newton, Rusty Newton, Dakota Ogden, and Myra Ogden, Melanie and Jacob Van Roosendaal, Micah Van Roosendaal and Nakita Van Roosendaal, her two brothers, Larry Holloway and his wife Anne, and John Holloway.
Friend may call Monday, August 20, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Knoll Park Ward, 160 S 460 W, Salem, UT with a viewing 1 hour prior to the services. Wednesday, August 22, 2007, a Graveside Service will be held at Noon, in the Richfield City Cemetery, with a viewing at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church at 200 E Center, Richfield, UT.
