Virginia Lee Webb Miner, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Provo, Utah on Saturday, August 25, 2007 from heart failure. She was born August 1, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Glyde Webb and Ilene Morrison Webb.
Virginia lived in Monroe, Utah until she was 16. She moved to Provo and graduated from Provo High in 1949. She attended BYU and was a Cougarette. Virginia was employed by Garrett Trucking as a secretary where she met and later married Richard Kent Miner on June 3, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Virginia lived with her family in the Northwest for 19 years, later moving back to Provo. She worked at BYU in Food Services and later as an Administrative Assistant in Women's Dance in the Physical Education Department where she received the "Fred A. Schwendiman" performance award in 1988. Virginia was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, music and being with family.
Virginia served as Stake and Ward Relief Society President, Young Women's President and in the Primary organization. She and her husband were called to serve in the Visitor's Center at the Mesa, Arizona Temple in1998. She also enjoyed serving as an Ordinance Worker in the Provo Temple.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Kent Miner; children: Desiree M. Cannon (Scott) of Mendon, UT; Raquel M. Prestwich (Craig) of Highland, UT; and Daniel R. Miner of Provo, UT. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters: Colleen W. Asay, Bill Webb, Karen W. Nelson and John Webb. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Matthew Kent Miner.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Edgemont 9th Ward Chapel at 4295 N. Canyon Road in Provo. There will be a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
