Vickie Stubbs Warren died peacefully in the arms of an angel in the early hours of May 25th 2010 after a valiant fight with cancer. Vickie was born November 10th, 1950 to E. Leon Stubbs and Bonnie Jene Stubbs of Provo, UT. She was valedictorian of her high school, graduated from BYU with a BS in Home Economics and taught for a while. Over 30 years of her working life was spent at the Developmental Center in American Fork, UT where she lovingly assisted both staff and individuals there. She enjoyed being with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, sewing, and cooking. Many blessing outfits were made with her gentle hands. She sought to fulfill the needs of others being their other daughter, mother, grandmother and always friend. Even through her earlier fight with Breast Cancer she continued to work and serve those around her. The battle with abdominal cancer took her to Chicago to meet with specialists often, and she touched the lives of so many through her love for people and for the gospel of Jesus Christ in her frequent, but short visits there. She was the mother to Amanda Riggs and Ben Warren and grandmother to Kestlie, Corban, and Keaton Riggs. She was sister to Wendy Tippets, the late Julie Slade, Dan Stubbs, Frank Stubbs, Jeff Stubbs and Lori Jenkins. Vickie taught how to love without payment, give without reward, and to have dignity in the difficulties. She will be missed by an innumerable amount of people, but most of all her family.
Services will be held in Springville at the Kolob Stake Center, 1250 S. 500 E., at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 28th. Internment will be at the Provo cemetery. There will be no public viewing.
