Vicki Dee Savage

Vicki Dee Savage passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Springville, Utah. She was 73. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, she will be deeply missed by those that had the privilege to know her.



Born in Oakland, California on Sept. 6th, 1938 to Wendell and Barbara Martin, Vicki was the second of four children. She graduated from Fremont High School, and later attended BYU. In 1959 she was sealed to her high school sweetheart Richard Savage in the Salt Lake City Temple, and they spent over 53 happy years together.



Vicki and Dick are the parents of five children and have lived and traveled in many places across the US. She has been active in the LDS faith all her life volunteering countless hours as a teacher and leader. Vicki loved music and had a wonderful singing voice. She also loved sports and participated on many church teams. She served a full-time mission in the New Hampshire, Manchester Mission with her husband, then later spent many years working in the LDS extraction program. Vicki loved to play games, cook and tell jokes but mostly she loved spending time with her family. She made friends easily and was loved by all who knew her.



Survived by her husband Richard Savage, her children Deanne (Kent) Blackhurst, Jeffrey (Jennifer), Craig (Melody), Kathleen (Steven) Clement, Mark (Maria), her sister Ann Wilson, her brother Stephen Martin, eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.



Predeceased by her parents and her brother Robert Martin.



Funeral will be held at the LDS Ward Building, 878 W. Center on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville the night before from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
