Vesta Josephine Frost Boyer was born March 17, 1910 in Salt Lake City, Utah and died August 11, 2007 in Spanish Fork, Utah. Her parents were Peter Frost and Rebecca Jorgensen Frost.
Vesta grew up in Salt Lake City, Oakley, then Bluffdale and Riverton, UT. She was married to Edward H. Boyer on November 15, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Springville, UT and were the parents of 12 children: Rae Ann Collier (Robert), Milan Frost, Marlin Edward (Pauline), Jorgen Jarrett (Carolyn), LeGrande (Nancy), Josephine Anthony, Leeta Gilbert (R. Dan), Peter Koyote Kern (Karen), Valerie Gukeisen (Darwin), Seth Peter (Angie), Wanda June Boyer, and Creed Herbert; plus one foster daughter, Dorothy Upshaw. Vesta was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her son, Creed, her son in law, Joseph Anthony and a great-grandchild, Emily Jones.
Vesta had a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints; she served in Primary, Relief Society and Young Women and was President of each at different times in her life. With Edward she was a Temple Worker at the Provo LDS Temple and served missions in North Carolina and at the Swiss LDS Temple. She was also active in the community with Edward in the Utah County and State Farm Bureau which she represented on the Utah State Nutrition Council. The Boyers also enjoyed hosting dancers each summer for the Springville International Folk Festival.
Vesta is survived by 11 of her children, 51 grandchildren, 128 great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and a wonderful extended family. Gratitude is extended to the staff at Hearthstone Manor and at Spanish Fork Nursing/Rehab for their kind service to Vesta.
Funeral services will be Saturday August 18, 2007 at the Springville, UT West Stake House, 996 W. Center, at 1:00 p.m. with viewing at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville, Friday August 17, 2007 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. and at the Stake House prior to the services from 11:30 a. 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
