Veleen Blonqist Scovil, 92, of Springville passed away March 9, 2023. Veleen was born to George and Ethel Blonquist in Upton, Utah on July 18th, 1930. Her parents were so happy to finally have a little girl. She joined her 3 brothers, all of whom she loved dearly. She was loved and spoiled by them. She grew up on the Blonquist Family Ranch in Upton, Utah and spent her time with her brothers, cousins and family friends playing and working on the ranch. She loved her time living at the ranch and learned how to sacrifice and work hard alongside her brothers. She graduated from North Summit High School and Seminary program. She married Orlo Snyder on July 1, 1948 and they were blessed with 3 daughters: Marion, Georgia and Barbara. She and Orlo lived in Park City as newlyweds then eventually moved to Coalvillle, Utah to raise their family on their own farm. They were later divorced. Veleen married Ivan Scovil on November 27, 1971. This blessed her life again with his 3 children: Deborah, Russell and Lewis. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They built their home and moved to the west fields of Springville in 1976.
Veleen loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always interested in their activities. She loved to garden and work in her yard. She loved to crochet and she liked to read. She was a Utah Jazz fan and loved to settle in her favorite chair and watch a game. She and Ivan spent hours sitting on their patio watching the day go by. That is where she was the happiest.
She is survived by her husband Ivan Scovil, her children Marion Smith, Georgia Clegg, Barbara Hall (Kevin), Deborah Lamb (Larry), Russell Scovil (Lisa), Lewis Scovil (Amaria) and her brother Lawrence Blonquist. She was a loving grandmother to 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
