Obituary for Valvan L. Zufelt
Valvan L. Zufelt, 67, of Santaquin, Utah passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007, in an automobile accident in Yuma, Arizona. He was born September 9, 1940 in Kline, Colorado to James Sterling and Erma Katherine Eaton Zufelt. He married Eunice May Bowers on June 17, 1984 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Val served in the Navy for 4 years, after which he worked for Coca Cola bottling in Provo. He then went to work for the Post Office and was there for 35 years, retiring as Post Master in 1996. Wanting to keep busy he and Eunice owned and operated Zufelt Trucking, leasing to Staker and Parson Paving, retiring after 10 years.
Val and Eunice enjoyed traveling together on their motorcycle with the Honda Goldwing club. They also enjoyed vacationing around the country in their RV after full retirement.
Val is survived by his wife Eunice, of 23 years; One son, Bart ( Kathy) Zufelt, of Lehi; one daughter, Shaelonn Zufelt, of Payson; two step-children, Kent (Mary-Jo) Bowers, of St. George, and Patti (Darrel) Steele, of Santaquin; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Joyce) Zufelt, of Springville, and Kolen Zufelt of Idaho; one sister, Klea (Lynn) Warner, of Spanish Fork. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at 10 a.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary chapel, 211 East 200 South, Springville. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 at the Mortuary or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
