Thelma Marilyn Johnson age 79, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 29, 2023.
Marilyn was born on November 15, 1943, in Spanish Fork, Utah to Benjamin and Della Fern (Knutson) Zobel. She was a 1962 graduate of Spanish Fork High School. She married her true love, Ray Allen Johnson on October 15, 1962, in Spanish Fork, and was later sealed in the Provo temple.
Marilyn worked for Jolene’s and Barbizon for many years and developed exceptional skills as a very talented seamstress. After she retired, Marilyn enjoyed spending time sewing, crocheting, and embroidery.
Marilyn truly loved life and simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, going to movies, family camping trips, fishing, waterskiing, working in her garden, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She is survived by her Husband of 60 years, Ray; Son’s Dean Johnson, Darren (Jenay) Johnson, Blake (Jody) Johnson; Daughter, Wendy Elder; Brother’s Cary (Peggy) Zobell, Donny (Brenda) Zobell; Sister’s Kathy Underwood, Carlene Wyler; many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Marilyn is preceded in death by her Parents Ben and Fern Zobell; Sister, Alice (Zobell) Dallin; Brother, Harvey Zobell; Daughter in law, Angie (Swensen) Johnson.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 6-8pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville. Funeral services will be held Monday April 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Grasslands 2nd Ward Chapel, located at 351 N 1200 W, Springville with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Historic Cemetery following services.
