Thelma Wilson Chapman, born in Payson, Utah on April 23, 1927 to Clarence LeRoy and Nellie Louise Carson Wilson, passed away November 29, 2018 at the age of 91. Thelma was married to Francis Hilthon Chapman on May 13, 1943 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple.
Thelma was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She and her husband served in the Wisconsin, Milwaukee Mission and later served a Stake Mission for four years. She was a lady who only had good thoughts, said good things about people and truly believed in the power of prayer.
She was the mother of 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by her oldest daughter, Danna Gray; one sister-in-law, Shirley Rook; and one brother-in-law, Alvin Chapman. She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Boyd Wilson, LeRoy Wilson, and Cornell Wilson; her husband, Francis Chapman; and her four children: Kelly Chapman, Annette Carlson, Cathy Allman, and Leland Chapman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Church at 840 South 400 East in Springville, Utah. There will be a viewing held Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m.at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville and at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
