Teresa Ann Smith was born on February 25th, 1962 in Provo, Utah to Claudia Hutchings and Monte Smith. After a life filled with compassion, kindness, and service, she passed peacefully in her home in Springville on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2023. The news of Teresa’s passing was heartbreaking for her family, and for all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Teresa was a warm soul with a loving heart. Her smile could light up any room she walked in. Having been the oldest of six siblings, she took on a role of mother, sister aunt, and even grandmother throughout her life, equally sharing love, kisses, and time with her siblings, nieces, nephews and any child that she came across. Each of her siblings can recall moments wherein she watched and guided them when nobody else was there to help.
Teresa’s character was larger than life. She had a sense of humor that could make one laugh at times without end. She could put a smile on a child’s face just by looking at them and twinkling her eyes. She loved knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Always someone willing to give, she used these talents to make gifts for family and friends. She loved reading and traveling. She held a love and passion for those who were less fortunate, working in healthcare at intermountain healthcare. Her great genius in life was her compassion and service of others who needed her help and support.
Teresa Ann Smith was preceded in death by her Father Monte Russell Smith, her mother Claudia Hutchings Martin, her nephew Nathan Ward, brother-in-law Dale Marker, her grandparents, and several aunts uncles, and other loved ones. Teresa is survived by her siblings: Tina Marker, Stephanie Lowder (Bryce), Valdas Lott Zimmerman, LaVar Zimmerman (Nicole), and Dennis Zimmerman (Melissa). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Rusty Haskell, Kris Haskell (Laura), Marie Boafo (Dave), Cricket Haskell, Candice Rodgers (Juan), Britney Jones (Abby), Kenneth Quignon (Crystal), Raymond Zimmerman, Alexis Zimmerman, Colton Zimmerman, Porter Zimmerman, George Zimmerman, Seth Zimmerman, along with her many grandnieces and grandnephews.
There will be a service held on Friday, January 5th, 2024 at 6:00PM. This service will be located at Wheeler Mortuary: 211 E 200 S Springville, UT. There will also be a celebration of her life in February for the remembrance of all of the love she shared.
