Susan Kay Bailey Roach

January 15, 1945 — April 19, 2011

Susan Kay Bailey Roach, 66 of Springville, UT passed away peacefully on April 19, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 15, 1945 to Robert "Tobe" and Shirley M. Bailey in Payson, UT.

She married Mark Dee Roach, the love of her life, on April 8th, 1966 in Springville, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple April 11th, 1975.

She graduated from Springville High School and the Hollywood Beauty College of Cosmetology. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She was a very compassionate person and actively sought opportunities and individuals to serve, especially those often forgotten. She completed a service mission at the Springville Bishop's Storehouse, spent much time doing genealogy indexing online, and spent many hours sewing blankets and crocheting hats for LDS Humanitarian Aid.

She was a very talented and artistic person. She applied this talent to knitting, sewing, embroidery, painting, Norwegian rosemaling, quilting, and folk art. Although she started her own business, "Me and Dee," to market and sell her art, she often chose to give it away.

She loved children, especially her grandchildren, teasing and often "scaring the hell" out of them. She loved to laugh and was often the instigator of practical jokes, making her home the favorite of many family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn. She leaves her beloved Dee, her three children: Alisa Kay (Lex) Black, Greg (Stacy) Roach, Korri Roach; her nine grandchildren: Carsen, Cade, Madison, McKay, Emmerson, Ally, Cannon, Lily and Sam; her parents Robert "Tobe" and Shirley Bailey; her siblings Jim Bailey, Judy Hansen, Clint Bailey and Brent Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Monday April 25th at 11:00 am in the LDS Springcreek Stake Center located at 360 N. 400 E. in Springville, UT. Friends may pay their respects Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Springcreek Stake Center located at 360 N. 400 E. in Springville, UT. Interment will be at Springville Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to the LDS Humanitarian Fund.
