Shirley May Pettit Willden, age 72, of Springville returned to her heavenly father on March 1, 2010. She was born May 23, 1937 in Long Beach California to John Silas Pettit and Thelma Barney. She Married Leland Kay Willden August 6, 1960 in Ely, Nevada. Later their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple, May 21, 2004.
She was a loved Mother and a beloved Grandmother. She was a very loving individual and loved everyone that she met, and everyone that met her loved her. She enjoyed vacations, family barbecues, and attending the Springville Folk Fest and Oktoberfest at Snowbird. She enjoyed serving her lord in the baptistery in the Provo Temple. She enjoyed the companionship of her "second" family at the temple. Especially when the little children would ask for her help in the baptistery. Her laughter and smile were contagious to all who were exposed to her loving personality.
She is survived by her Husband, her two sons, John Rex Diamond (Dawna) of Lehi, and Ronald Kay Willden of Springville, and her sister Carol Ann Pettit of Provo. She is also survived by her 3 Grandchildren; Tristy Lee Diamond (Jordan), Alannah Marie Whittaker (Jason), Jared Jay Diamond, and 4 Great Grandchildren; Paige, Kennedy, Cooper and Makenna. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack and sister Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held Friday March 5, 2010 at the Hobble Creek First Ward at 555 South 600 East in Springville at 11:00 A.M. Viewing at the Wheeler Mortuary at 211 East 200 South in Springville, Thursday March 4, from 6:00 8:00 P.M. Viewing prior to service at 10:00 10:45 A.M. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery following services.
