Shandyn Kelly Barton

d. January 3, 2013

1986 ~ 2012

Shandyn Kelly Barton of Springville, Utah was born on November 4, 1986. She passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the age of 26. After years of enduring numerous health problems beginning at a young age combined with her struggles with addiction she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage that ended her life.

Shandyn was an amazing person who loved her family and friends unconditionally. She made friends easily and was fiercely loyal to those she loved. She also loved to laugh! Her laugh was contagious and you would find yourself laughing too although you weren't always sure why. Her children were the most precious things to her. She loved watching them play sports and taking them to the park. She especially loved reading books with them, listening to her son play his guitar and having girl's night with her daughter which included nail polish and making rice krispie treats (she believed making them was half of the fun!).

Shandyn loved to drive and would look for any excuse she could to jump in the car, crank up the stereo until your ears hurt and drive (probably a little faster than she should have). Camping was one of her favorite things to do although anything that included being in the sunshine was awesome. She loved babies, Harley's and anything "Marilyn". Purple was her favorite color and she was a firm believer that Swedish fish should be one of the four food groups. Shandyn has made a huge impact on many people's lives and she will forever be missed.

She is survived by her children: Hayden Garrett Antonino (10) and Aizlyn Kirsten Sauvageau (8); mother, Kristy Barton and sister, Jestyn Barton, Springville, UT; dad and step-mom, Mike S. and Melanie K. Houghton; siblings: McKayla, Joie, Halle, Avery and Anders Houghton, Lehi, UT. She is also survived by grandparents: Jess and Mary Jo Barton, Springville, UT, Steve and Dixie Houghton and Mel and Lueen Kirkham, Lehi, UT; uncle, Dan (Shannon) Barton; nephews, Isaac and Jack Barton, Mead, CO, Ryan Priel, Louisville, KY; and her dog Sadie. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jean Cowan Barton and her sweetheart, Jed Antonino.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Springville Stake Center, 245 S. 600 E., Springville. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville and Saturday at the church one hour prior to the services.
