Saul Pallat

February 14, 1919 — December 12, 2009

Our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on December 12, 2009.

Saul Pallat was born February 14, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York to Elizabeth Alper and Louis Pallat. He had two brothers, Murray and Irving. He was married to Gaby Lintz and they had two children; Linda (Pallat) Reklinski and Michael Pallat. They later divorced. He later married Patricia Kapp and they were sealed in the Los Angeles temple in 1971. They had 3 children: Dani (Pallat) Rossean, Tigart, Oregon, Shannon (Pallat) Kelley (Spencer), Cedar Hills, UT and Jamie (Pallat) Christensen (Jared), Highland, UT.

Saul was born into a loving Jewish family. His early years were spent growing up in

Brooklyn, New York and later he became a police officer. He was honored to be a part of law enforcement. He proudly served in the US Army in World War II as a tank instructor and military police officer.

Upon his return he became a successful businessman in the New York area working in the floor-covering business. He continued in the business after moving to California, where he was very successful and greatly respected by all who knew him. It was during his time in California where he was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was thought by the missionaries who taught him that he was a "golden investigator" because of his already existing belief in Jesus Christ as his divine Savior. In 1970 he was officially baptized and he later became a devout missionary and at every opportunity shared the gospel with those around him. He remained a dedicated member of the church and held numerous callings but he mostly loved his calling as a temple worker at the Jordan River temple. He was a sought after speaker for firesides and special church occasions because of his incredible story of conversion.

He will be remembered by his family and friends as one with a tender heart with tears so easily shed, whether by watching a movie or listening to his grandchildren sing. He loved music and he was a wonderful dancer. Often the ladies would line up to have a turn dancing with Saul!

Although he and Patti divorced in 1982, they remained life-long friends. He was always there for any school or church event and always set aside Saturday as his special day to spend time with his kids.

His family especially wants to express their appreciation and love to the amazing staff at The Jamestown, River Meadows, and most recently the compassionate staff at The Charleston, and Alpine Hospice, who so lovingly and willingly took special care of Saul.

He is survived by his 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and his brother.

Services will be held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a private viewing for close friends and family an hour prior to the service at the same location. Internment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, UT.
