1939 ~ 2012
Sara Dolores Blazer Smith of Mapleton, Utah, born in Bakersfield, California on March 8, 1939 to Jeff and Lottie Blazer has passed beyond the veil to return to be with her husband Noel on October 4, 2012. She and Noel were married in the Manti LDS Temple on December 21, 1966.
Sara loved raising her family, planning and cooking creative meals, working and reading with her family and observing the moon. Those who knew her remember that special sparkle in her eye. She was the first in her family to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings including visiting teacher and primary teacher. She served a full time mission from 1962 to 1964 in the Southern States Mission. She graduated from BYU with a Bachelors in Genealogy and minors in Music, learning the violin, cymbals and piano.
She is survived by her sons: David, Jeff, Brent and Danny Smith; 7 grandchildren and a sister, Christine Bigley. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Harold Blazer; her sisters: Vera Sanders and Maxine Jones and a grandson, Joseph Smith.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton 13th Ward Chapel located at 970 North 400 East in Mapleton. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 82 West 400 North in Mapleton or Thursday at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
