Sara Michelle Batty

Sara Michelle Kasperson Batty, 45, recently of Visalia California, passed away Nov. 30, 2023 on her birthday

She was born on Nov. 30, 1978 in Provo, Utah to Keith W. Kasperson and LaVerne S Kasperson. She married Randy D. Batty on April 28, 2007. They separated in 2010. They are the parents of two children, Adalynn Michelle Peterson and Landon David Peterson who were adopted by Sara’s sister and brother-in-law, Sherri and Tyson Peterson.

In her own words, when Sara was 17, she said the following about how she wanted to be remembered:    

"Sara participated in numerous outdoor activities including water skiing, snowmobiling, soccer, and hiking. She liked to go to the mountains during any time of year. They will miss her presence also. 

One can't help but think of dance when they think of Sara. The two were inseparable. Dance lived in Sara's heart, mind, body, and soul every day of her younger life. She was on her way to a lifetime career in the art, both teaching and performing. Most important, she wanted to share with everyone the comfort, beauty, and ways of expression that dance has to offer.

Those who knew Sara will miss her open heart, and mind full of unconditional love. They will miss her contagious smile that made everything seem okay, and the sincere smile that wouldn't lie. The world will miss Sara Michelle"

We will miss the kind, loving, caring, hardworking person she could be, and now has the opportunity to be all the time.

Sara is survived by her parents, Keith and LaVerne Kasperson, siblings-Keith M (Ashley) Kasperson, David (Audrey) Kasperson, Sherri (Tyson) Peterson, Kayley (Brandt) Braun, and Emilee Kasperson. Children- Ady and David Peterson. 

Funeral services will be held Monday Dec 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Salem Utah West Stake Center, 695 S 300 W Salem, Utah 84653. A viewing will be held from 9:30 -10:30 am in the Relief Society room. Interment will be at the Salem City Cemetery. 

Funeral arrangements provided by Wheeler Mortuary in Springville UT There will be an online link on their website for those who would like to participate virtually. 

In lieu of flowers, we would ask you to donate new, or clean, gently used blankets for the local homeless shelter, as Sara, Ady, and David have been homeless at times. Sara also often served meals there for Thanksgiving and Christmas. You may also donate by Venmo to @Sherri-KaspersonPeterson, and we will purchase blankets for you. You may bring them to the funeral, or parents/siblings homes before the 21st. Thank you!
