Sandra Lee Butterfield Bird

November 18, 1946 — April 24, 2011

Sandra Lee Bird chose a beautiful Easter Sunday morning to return to her Heavenly Father. She lived a very long life fighting for her health. After complications from a stroke and a long 8 day battle she passed away peacefully to be reunited with her earthly parents and other loved ones she has missed dearly.



She was born in Meadville, PA. to James Butterfield and Lona Holman on November 18, 1946. Sandra was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After graduation from high school she went to work at the Pentagon which was one of her greatest accomplishments as well as her love for her career at Novell. Unfortunately in June of 1997 she had to resign due to her health. She married her best friend and the love of her life David Vernon Bird on October 15, 1977 and he has stayed by her side till her very last breath.



Sandra was one of the strongest and most determined people to succeed in life. She was a very beautiful woman full of life, spirit and fight. She was fun loving with a whitty and charming personality, understanding, tender and nurturing. She will be missed dearly by all those who loved her.



She is survived by her husband, Children Mark Birchette, Deana Leighton, Michael Birchette (Kristi), Elizabeth Bird (Matt Blackett), Christopher Bird (Tresa Collings) 14 Grandchildren, Danny Birchette, Elric Birchette, Nicole Birchette, Randon Birchette, Bethany Birchette, Maya Birchette, Shaylee Cram, Austin Birchette, Kaila Birchette, Isaac Birchette, Adriana Birchette, Anika Bird, Jayden Bird, 3 Great Grandchildren, Lucas Birchette, Taylorann Birchette, Bricen Hamilton. Brother, James Butterfield (Nancy), Sisters, Barbara Timmons, Marilyn Budge (Dennis), Kathie Thompson (Paul). Also 2 Step brothers, Alan Turner, Gordon Turner, 1 step sister Jennie Shaw (Ken), 1 half brother Michael Butterfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Don and Dorothy Bird, stepparents Jack Holman and Marcia Butterfield, Grandson Brice Birchette, Great Grandson Carter Castleberry.



Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 840 S 400 E, Springville, UT. A viewing will be held from 11 to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist with funeral costs, in the name of David Bird at the Central Bank in Springville, UT. The family also wishes to remind you how precious life is and to cherish your loved ones.
