Ruth O'Brien Hatfield passed away August 11, 2013 after a lingering illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruth was born September 20, 1935 in Payson, Utah to James Joseph O'Brien and Susan May Betts O'Brien. She married Jimmy Hatfield on December 23, 1950 in Spanish Fork, Utah.
She attended schools in Spanish Fork and was a member of the LDS Church.
Ruth worked many wonderful jobs some of which include The Old Springville City Drug, Sales Rep. for Pfaff, Revlon, Dorothy Gray, and Escada. These positions made it possible to have many exciting travels. She was also involved in raising money for the heart fund.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; son Shawn and grandson Bryce and Alice Hatfield; brothers, Paul (Sharon) O'Brien of Spanish Fork, UT, Jerry (Kathleen) O'Brien of Gilbert, AZ; sisters, Linda (Doyle) Hatfield and Sandra (John) deHaas of Mapleton, UT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Lucille Rose, son Jimmy Lee, daughters Laurie Ann and Gay Lynne.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Mapleton 5th Ward Chapel, 970 North 400 East in Mapleton. Friends may call at Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South in Springville Thursday evening from 6 until 8 P.M and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
