Ruth Condie Erb, died on December 29, 2009, in her home in Placentia, California surrounded by her family.



Ruth was born on November 26, 1921 at her family home in Springville, Utah. She was the youngest child born to Earl and Elsie Condie. She graduated from Springville High school and went to work at Remington Arms munition plant during World War II where she met her husband, DeVere C. Erb. They were married in 1942 and raised six children. Ruth graduated from the University of Utah with her Bachelors degree and she received her Masters degree from Cal State, LA. She taught secondary Education in Home Economics, and taught Business and Marketing at the college level in Los Angeles for over 20 years. She was named Mother of the Year for Los Angeles County in 1968. She loved teaching and sewing but her greatest love was her family.



Ruth is preceded in death by her father, Earl Condie; mothers, Elsie Clegg Condie, and Nellie Weight Condie; her brothers, Harold Condie, Glenn Condie, Aurthur Condie, Vernon Condie; and sister, Verona Condie Lee. Also preceding her in death was her son, Bruce Condie Erb. Ruth is survived by her husband, DeVere C. Erb of Placentia, California, DeAnn (Blaine) Ridd of Trabuco Canyon, California, Lyle (Candace) Erb of Placentia, California, Anita (Clint) Bunker of Cedar City, Utah, Susan (Jon) Hansen of Yorba Linda, California, Lisa Davies of Placentia, California. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.



Funeral Services will be held in Utah on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral services were also held on Monday January 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 210 West Livingston Avenue, Placentia, California. A viewing was held one hour prior to service.
