Rose Little Henderson Shepherd "Grammy"
Rose Little Henderson Shepherd passed away peacefully March l3, 2021. She was 92 years old.
Rose was born to Henry Newton Henderson and Ada Elizabeth Hartley Henderson on August l8, 1928, in Columbia, Carbon County, Utah. She was their 8th child. Siblings: Henry Callas, Arthur Bernice, Ralph Irving. Hazel Mary, Rex Hartley. Edna Mae. & Ada Faye. She grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah, attending school with lifelong friend Colleen Davidson.
Rose married Floyd Asa Shepherd June 28, I 946 and they were later sealed in the SLC Temple.
Floyd and Rose had 5 children - Michael Floyd Shepherd, Terry Lee Fox, Toni Sue Hendricks, Danny Henderson Shepherd, and Steven Craig Shepherd. They had a wonderful extended family also, including Cheryl & Ron Henrichsen, Melodie Tahbo, Calvin and Marlene Jones, and many others. They have 2l grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Floyd and Rose made a home in Springville. where Rose was a wonderful homemaker, mother, seamstress. and musical performer. Their children were also musical performers. Rose served in many callings in her LDS ward throughout her life. Her and Floyd served a mission to Oakland California.
At 65, she taught herself to play the guitar and with Floyd on gutbucket they joined the Old Time Fiddlers. The song that she was most known lor was "Send me to Glory in a Glad Bag". She loved to bring happiness to others.
Rose was a wonderful. warm and loving mother, and friend. Family was extremely important to Rose. You were always treated with love and kindness when you were with Rose. She fed many family and friends on "Taco Sunday" and anyone was welcome for holiday dinners.
Rose is survived by four of her children, Michael (Joti), Terry Fox (Richard), Toni Hendricks (Scott), and Steve (Lori), 20 Grandchildren and 48 Great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, her sisters Edna Weight and Faye Drage.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, Son Danny Shepherd, Granddaughter Sheridan Shepherd. Great-grandchildren Dakota Hendricks and Alyssa Hendricks.
The family would like to thank everyone at Heritage Gardens of Springville for the wonderful care that they gave Rose.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Church at 840 South 400 East in Springville. There will be a viewing at the church from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
