Rodney L Evans passed away peacefully on March 28, 2018 after a long fight with aggressive Parkinson’s Disease.
Rodney was born December 29, 1956 to Lyle and Shirley (Rowley) Evans, the youngest of three siblings, Rodney is survived by his older Sister Robyn (Dan) Goff and Michael (Gwen) Evans. Rodney graduated from Millard High as his class salutatorian in 1975. In 1976 he was called to serve in the Boston Massachusetts Mission. After his mission Rodney attended BYU and graduated in 1983 with a degree in photography. Rodney was employed during his time at school at the Fulrath House running the campus camera shop, and from that point Rodney never really left BYU. That student job turned into a 35 year career in photography and information technology. A passionate BYU football fan, the first date he asked his future wife, Kathleen (Langdon), to was a BYU football game. They have enjoyed 28 years of marriage and together they have two sons Eric (Tami) and Scott (Hyeshun). Just last year, Rodney became a grandpa to Matthew Lyle adding the 4th generation to bear the Lyle name.
Rodney was never a man of many words, but to those fortunate enough to know him well, he was a strong friend. Perhaps his most defining characteristic was his dedication to whatever task he undertook. Any project or assignment he tackled would be done well and with great care. Rodney loved the gospel of Jesus Christ in his own quiet, yet very strong, way and in this his family takes peace.
