Robert Roller Sullivan passed away April 7, 2008, in Provo, Utah, at the age of 83 years. He was born in San Fernando, California, on January 20, 1925, to Harry Gazaway Sullivan and Gladys Wilber Sullivan. After graduating from North Hollywood High School, he joined the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was stationed in Norman, Oklahoma, and Crow's Nest, California, and served as an airplane mechanic on Guam. After his discharge, he returned to California where he majored in civil engineering at Los Angeles City College. Bob worked as a construction and maintenance supervisor for the Los Angeles Water and Power Department, where he earned the love and respect of both the men he supervised and his bosses. He retired in 1978 when he moved to Utah. He worked briefly for the Salt Lake International Airport as an inspector.
He married Peggy Neeley in Hollywood, California, on June 11, 1948. The marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple on November 9, 1975. They had three children: Barry Lynn, Kim Robin, and Kelly Robert. Bob loved his family and they spent many vacations camping and traveling. He was a skilled handyman and could fix anything! He was interested in current events, history and science and was always learning. In his late 60's he was introduced to computers and the internet. He used email extensively to maintain contact with his nieces, nephews and friends, and quickly learned to "google" information on every topic of interest, and to book condos and hotels for his vacations with Peggy. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was very shy about speaking in public, but friends knew his genuine warmth, quick wit and wide range of interests. He served as a ward finance clerk, a secretary in a high priest group and a faithful and diligent home teacher.
Bob is survived by his wife Peggy, daughter Kim Sullivan, son Kelly (Morgan) Sullivan, grandchildren: David, Valerie, Chris and Erin, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and infant son.
