Our husband, father, son and friend Robert Thayne "Bob" Murray returned home to his heavenly father April 5, 2008. Bob was born in Provo, UT to Thayne Ellis and Mary Mitchell Murray. He attended school in Springville and at Provo High. After high school Bob volunteered for the Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was stationed in Heidelberg Germany. During that time he married his high school sweetheart Keri Nicol. Together they had five children. They later divorced.
Bob pursued many career paths. He met his beautiful wife Janilee Birch while logging in Oregon. They were married in 1990 and they have two beautiful daughters. During the last 17 years he worked in the Information Technology field as a system administrator. During his life he was an accomplished cowboy action shooter which brought him great joy. He was known by his team mates as "unforgiven". Bob was a Range Safety Officer at The Garth Killpack gun range and a member of the Tin Can Club. Bob enjoyed being outdoors either hunting, fishing, camping or hiking. His family enjoyed his wonderful dutch oven cooking and his amazing BBQ. He was LOVED and cherished and will always be missed.
Bob is survived by his wife Janilee and their daughters Samantha and Brandy; his mother Mary Murray, brother Philip Murray, and Aunt Irene Mitchell. Also survived by Children: Chris Murray Vest (Rose) Clayton Murray Vest (Kallie) Angie Taylor (David) Breena Scollick (Tony) Steven Murray Vest and sixteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Thayne Ellis Murray.
Services will be held Thursday, April 10 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 860 E 200 N, Springville. Services provided by Wheeler Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Pacific Horizon Credit Union in the name of The Bob Murray Family.
