Richard Jay Hone

Richard Jay Hone, age 79, peacefully passed away February 17, 2017 from kidney failure at the Central Utah Veteran's Home in Payson Utah.

Richard was born on September 8, 1937 in Springville Utah to Elizabeth Blackett and Elmer Hone. He attended schools in Springville and graduated from Springville High. He served five years in the United States Army and Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1963. He married Beth Addis, had four children, and was later divorced. He worked at and retired from Geneva Steel. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, watching grandkids, an occasional game of golf and breakfast at Nate's Diner.

Richard is survived by his four children and their spouses: Gary (Kerrie), Springville; Diane (Arnie) Cooper, Mapleton; Lynn (Spanish Fork); Mark (Jennifer), Vernal. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and half brother, DaWayne Quinn.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville with military rights by the American Legion. Family and friends may visit Monday, February 20th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville and on Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

The family expresses sincere appreciation to Dr. Marc Penrod, the staff at Central Utah Veteran's Home, and Bristol Hospice-especially Lisa Call and Danica Harmon who are true angels.
