Richard “Rick” Card passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 in a tragic house fire at his home in Springville, Utah.
Rick was born August 22,1943 in Salem, Utah to Earl and Louise (Holder) Card. He grew up in Salem and then attended Spanish Fork High School where he participated in band and graduated in 1961.
In 1962, He married Mary Ann Abbott and together they had two sons, Wayne and Bob. As a family they enjoyed many trips rock hunting in the dessert as well as hunting and fishing. Rick and Mary Ann later divorced, and on March 25th, 1976 Rick married Jacquelin Tomsick Sorenson Lott. With Jackie came three sons, Craig, Todd, and Chad as well as a daughter Becky.
Rick always had a comedic reply to just about everything. In conversation, he could easily twist words to create a joke. It was an amusement to him to watch you roll your eyes, smile, or burst into laughter. He was a collector from a very young age. He collected music, instruments, rocks and fossils, coins, and antiques to name a few.
Although Rick loved rock hunting and outdoor sports, the true love of his life was music. He developed a love for playing music at a very young age and learned to play many instruments. Rick belonged to several bands over the years and taught music, giving private lessons on several different instruments to many.
In his later years he loved when family and friends would come to visit. He and Jackie loved watching the family grow.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie Lott; parents Earl and Louise (Holder) Card; Stepson Craig Lott; brothers Junior and Darrel and sister Eula (Card) Einerson.
