Renee (Hughes) Cope

Renee Cope, age 92, was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on August 25,1924 and died January, 22, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cope, a brother, Dean Hughes (Flora), and a sister, Jennie Robinson (Elmer). She married her high school sweetheart, Ray Cope on December 14,1942 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Renee is survived by her five children: Gerene Bodmer (Paul) of Richland, Washington; David (Janet) of Springville, Joel (Brenda) of Springville, Martena Parker (Dale) of Springville and Cyle (Christina) of Spanish Fork. Renee and Ray were blessed with 18 grand children, 34 great-grandchildren and 7 great great­grandchildren.

At the age of 3, Renee's mother passed away. She was raised by her pioneer grand­parents from Denmark, James Christen Jensen and Ane Kathrine Martine Mortensen.

Renee's prized treasures were her children and grand children. She served in many positions in the LDS Church sharing her piano playing talents. She worked closely with her husband in a family business, Springville Meat Company, for 22 years, and later helping Ray as he managed the Church Welfare Farm. She and Ray served 2 Welfare Missions while living at home. They also served as Temple Workers in the Provo Temple.

The family wishes to thank the services of i-Care and particularly Bert, Janine, and Kory.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 27 in the Springville Stake Center 245 S 600 E in Springville. Viewing will be Thursday evening January 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S in Springville and at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
