April 5, 1936 ~ December 28, 2012
Phillip H Anderson, age 76, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on December 28, 2012 at UVRMC after a short battle with cancer. Phil was born on April 5, 1936 in Ogden, UT to Spencer Victor (Vic) Anderson and Marvel Burr. He married Roberta (Teddy) Braun, his longtime sweetheart, on March 15, 1955; they met in the 5
th
grade and have been together ever since.
A life-long resident of Springville, he graduated from Springville High School in 1954, where he lettered in track and was a Mighty Red Devil to the end! Phil and his high school buddies were usually found at LeMar's Café©, now the T-Bone, where he continued later in life to meet his friends for lunch. He then went on to the University of Utah to continue his education.
Phil was a successful businessman, working in the service station industry. He started work with Whiting Brothers Oil Co. and later owned and operated the D Oil Co. in Springville and Thistle. He entered into a partnership with his dear friend, Bob Cordner, running Crestview Service with stations in Provo, Orem, and American Fork. They also owned Bradshaw Auto Parts in Mt. Pleasant, UT. Phil and Bob sold their many businesses and retired in 2010.
In his spare time, Phil enjoyed playing the stock market, feeding the hummingbirds and quail, growing the greatest tomatoes, and keeping his grass greener than anyone in the neighborhood. He was a lifetime member of the Provo Elks Lodge 849, a charter member of the Provo Gun Club, and an avid trap shooter. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy; he deeply loved and cared for each and every one of them.
Survivors include his wife Teddy and their four children Gregory (Cari), Orem; Jeffory, Springville; Terese (Randy) Revoir, Nephi; and Stacy, Springville, as well as his eight grandchildren Alesha, Jessica, Jacob, Phillip, Caitlin, Erin, Rachael, and Derek. His seven great-grandchildren include Stephen (Tripp), Pax, and Eli Russo; Stella and Liam Revoir; Ronan Painter; and Graeme Anderson. He is also survived by his mother, Marvel Vogel; brother, C.V. 'Skip' (Florence) Anderson; sister, Sidney Whitlock; sister- in-law, Margo Anderson; and Vic's wife, Shirley Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Vic, and brother, David.
A special thank you goes to the doctors and nurses on the seventh floor at UVRMC for their extraordinary and loving care.
He was truly loved and will be missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Phil lived a life of "pay it forward" and it would be a tribute to his memory if you would do the same.
