Paul Franklin McHargue, age 75 of Mapleton, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009. He was born April 23, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia to Andrew Thomas and Bessie Mae Mattox McHargue. He married Virginia Gay Bennett August 21, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Paul was a member of the LDS church and was active in the High Priest quorum, a devoted home teacher, a primary teacher, and the Sunday School superintendent. He was a master craftsman in cabinetry.
He is survived by his wife of Mapleton; two sons and five daughters: Todd (Mindy) McHargue, Wylene (Clint) Benson, Cheryl (Scott) Graff, Joyce (Lew) Jones, Maureen (Darin) Stephens, Bryan (Diana) McHargue, and Laura Dahl. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton North Stake Center at 475 North 1600 West in Mapleton. There will be a viewing held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 82 West 400 North in Mapleton and Thursday at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
