Orson Eldridge Carter

March 22, 1925 — May 12, 2010

Orson Eldridge Carter, 85, of Springville, Utah, passed peacefully from this life into the next after a valiant battle with pneumonia. He was born in Santaquin on March 22, 1925, to Orsen Carter and Eva Larsen. He met the love of his life, Lorna Faye Searle, and was married to her in Nephi, Utah, on July 12, 1943. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple and they enjoyed 66 amazing years together.

Eldridge served in World War II and dedicated 30 years to the Utah Fish and Wildlife Resources. His outstanding love of animals and nature dominates our memories. His happiest times were outdoors camping, hunting, fishing, trapping, or just enjoying the beauty of the West desert.

Eldridge was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna Faye; and is survived by his two children: Norman "Butch" Carter and Susan Anderson, 5 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, at 11 a.m. in the Spring Creek 6th Ward, 860 East 200 North, Springville, UT. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 at the church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
