Supported by Hospice and her loving family, Norma Jean Lavery was able to slip quietly away on March 24, 2012 in Provo, Utah. Norma was born on August 20, 1934 in Mulberry, Kansas as the only child of Arnie Joseph LeClercq and Pearl Cole. The family moved to California when Norma was a young child. It was here that she blossomed into a vivacious and active young lady. She loved school and was an excellent student. She participated in sports, dance, cheerleading and being involved in service organizations. Later as a mom, she was active as a leader in the PTA and scouting. Norma loved being with friends on bowling leagues, competitive singing with the Mother Singers, and later golf. She liked to cook and celebrate holidays with family. She especially loved to shop and give gifts. One of her favorite past times was to find a road and see where it would take her. She loved everything about the ocean, working as a marine insurance agent until her retirement in 2005. Shortly after retiring Norma made the ultimate sacrifice and left her home in Huntington Beach, California and moved to Utah to be near her family. Norma is survived by her Mother, Pearl Cole Martin of Cathedral City, California.
Children: daughter Teri Lynn Idle (Hasvold), son-in-law Henry J Idle, son Jase Alan Lavery, daughter-in-law Wendy Lavery and daughter Kathleen Diane Lavery. Her loving grandchildren are Candace Idle Rushton, Kevin and Angela Idle, Steven and Karly Idle, Jessie Lavery and Joshua Lavery. Great grandchildren: Mia, Luka and Liam Rushton. Norma requested that her cremated remains be scattered at sea, allowing her to return the place she loves.
