Norma Stone Johnson, 91, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She was born February 29, 1928, in Mapleton, Utah to Ernest Erman Stone and Florence Gale Stone. She married William Kelly Johnson on August 29, 1946. Their marriage was solemnized on June 29, 1960 in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2006.
Norma’s life was full of service to others. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as the 11-year-old scout leader for 27 years. She also received an award for indexing over 100,000 names (searching old records, ie: censuses, marriage records, birth records, and recording the information for family history). Norma and Kelly served two church missions in Nauvoo and Michigan. She worked in 4-H and as a little league scorekeeper for 15 years. She and Kelly loved teaching their children the value of hard work, on the farm, bailing hay, selling tomatoes, eggs and raw milk, and of course chasing cows. She shared her love for gardening, quilting, crocheting, canning, camping, and fishing with many. Later in life she and Kelly were members of the Squaw Peaks Sam’s Club.
She is survived by her children: Kelly (Roseanne) Johnson, Evanston, WY; Joy (Burt) Pulsipher, Wellington; Karen (Scott) Eastman, Orem; Dan, Mona; Val (Jocelyn) Johnson, Rexburg, ID; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Kelly Johnson, her parents Ernest and Florence Stone, and all of her siblings and their spouses.
