Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Norma Vee Snelson Hatfield, age 83 of Mapleton, passed away Monday, September 14, 2009. She was born September 16, 1925 in Vineyard, Utah to Marl Wayne and Verrena Rawlings Snelson. Norma married her high school sweetheart, Leland Mack Hatfield on March 26, 1943 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She and Leland were married 66 wonderful years.
Norma worked at Troy Laundry for many years and also at the Plumbers Union retiring in 1982. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Good Sam's Club. She loved camping, deer hunting, crafts and family activities. She had a famous toy drawer for the grandkids. Norma was a temple worker at the Provo Temple and was active in Primary and Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her husband, Leland of Mapleton; two sons and one daughter: Mack (Linda) Hatfield of Mapleton, Mikeal (Margery) Hatfield of Springville, and Marilyn (Neil) Christiansen of Mapleton; 13 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by one brother, Dean Snelson of Springville. She was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a viewing held Friday at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. James Rose, Dr. Brian Tudor, Annette Nielson and Vista Hospice for the loving care they gave her.
