Noel Edward Smith

Noel Edward Smith of Mapleton, passed beyond the veil from complications due to cancer, on October 13, 2011. He was born December 25, 1937 in Murray, Utah. He was the son of Herman James and Doris Burgon Smith.





Noel was raised in Draper. He graduated from Jordon High School. He loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission in Samoa for the church. He returned home and then served in the Utah National Guard. He also graduated from Brigham Young University. He worked at Brigham Young University as a computer programmer.



Noel married Sara Dolores Blazer in the Manti Temple on December 21, 1966. They had four sons: David, Jeff, Brent and Daniel.





He is survived by his wife, his sons and their wives, seven grandchildren, three brothers, Merlin, Sheldon and Don, and two sisters, Sheila Hartwell, and Helene Terry.



He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandson.





Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 11 am in the Mapleton 13th Ward Chapel, 970 North 400 East, Mapleton, Utah. Family and friends may come for a viewing from 9:30 am-10:45 am, prior to services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
