Neil Dalton Thorn

Neil D. Thorn, age 68 of Provo, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008. He was born March 26, 1940 in Provo, Utah to Grant S. Thorn and Naomi Dalton.



Neil was raised in Springville, Utah graduating from Springville High School in 1958 and later attending B.Y.U. He served an LDS Mission in Northern England from 1960 to 1962. Neil worked for Thorn Construction Co., General Motors in San Leandro, California and Geneva Rock Products. He was an avid sports fan, especially of B.Y.U. football. Neil had a special devotion and love for his nieces and nephews. He was a good son, brother, friend and especially dedicated in caring for his mother in her aging years.



He is survived by one brother and two sisters: Jerry (Carol) Thorn of Provo, Linda Pearce of Salt Lake City, and Diane (Jeff) Preston of Mapleton; 18 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marillyn.



The family would like to express their appreciation to Rock Canyon Nursing and Rehab, especially Anthony, Justin, Jen, and Suzanna; as well as Dr. Dan Tovey at IHC InstaCare.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville. There will be a viewing held at the mortuary Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
