1941 ~ 2013
Nancy Tolman Murphy passed away March 4, 2013. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home in Springville, Utah. Born on November 6, 1941, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of David Elden Tolman and Nedra Carlston Tolman. She married her sweetheart William George Murphy in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on August 18, 1967. Nancy's greatest joys in life were her family and the gospel. She loved music, sports, reading, and gardening. She loved the changes of season especially the spring blossoms and fall colors. She shared her love of books and games with her grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities she especially enjoyed her service as a temple worker. Nancy enjoyed teaching many years of ninth grade English at Vernal Junior High School. She touched so many lives for good.
She was raised in Arlington, Virginia, and graduated from Wakefield Senior High School. She earned a bachelors degree in English from Brigham Young University. Nancy raised her family in Kaysville and Vernal, Utah. She and her husband retired to Springville, Utah to be close to their children and grandchildren. She is survived by her six children: David (Gina) Murphy, Theron (Jody) Murphy, George (Brinli) Murphy, Wendy (Dale) Eaton, Amy (Michael) Bever, Stephen (Charlotte) Murphy; 22 grandchildren, brother David (Connie) Tolman. She was preceded in death by her husband William George Murphy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hobble Creek 14th Ward, 1050 South 1700 East, Springville, Utah. Friends and families are invited to call Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South and Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Hobble Creek 14th Ward. Interment, Evergreen Springville Cemetery.
