Nancy Strong Boyer, 66, of Kingsport, Tennessee, died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010. She was born in Payson, Utah, on Oct. 6, 1943 and raised in Springville, Utah. She married LeGrande Boyer, Oct. 3, 1963.
Nancy attended Brigham Young University (1962-1964) and graduated Cum-Laude from ETSU in 1984. She has lived in Tennessee for 41 years.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormon Historical Association, the Nauvoo Historical Society, the Hancock Co. Illinois Historical Society; treasurer of the Sullivan County Historical and Genealogical Society and enjoyed doing family history. She deeply loved her family and friends. She passed on a legacy of selflessness, compassion and charity to her posterity.
She is survived by her husband, LeGrande; five children and spouses: LeMoyne and Melia Ruth Boyer of Sugarland, TX; Leah and Mitchell Ellis Brannen, Jr. of Savannah, GA; Leland Floyd Boyer of Atlanta, GA; Lorin Jay and Enriqueta Boyer of San Antonio, TX; Lynnae and Matthew Weller of Savannah, GA; and 13 grandchildren: Quentin Lee Boyer, Richard Wesley Boyer, Marinda Mae Boyer, Andrew Bryce Boyer, Naomi Lynn Boyer, Jessica Leigh Brannen, Mitchell Alexander Brannen, Hunter Montessano Boyer, Caitlynn Jules Boyer, Ethan Grant Boyer, Evan LeGrande Boyer, Kylia Weller and Garren Matthew Weller. She is also survived by her mother, Harriett Miner Strong, of Springville, Utah; and five siblings: Suzanne Wiscombe, Mary Stewart, Kathryn (John) Callister, Roslyn (Kenneth) Averett, and Daryl Strong; and many nieces and nephews.
Her father, Ernest Albert Strong, Jr.; and brother, Don Robert Strong; preceded her in death.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 7, in Kingsport, TN. On Wednesday, Oct. 13, a memorial service will be held in Springville at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 South. Family and friends may visit from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The service will begin at 11. Burial will be at Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
