1945~2013
Nada LaVerna Seely Tanner passed away peacefully at home in Sandy, UT on Thursday, 14 Nov., 2013. She was born 20 Sept., 1945 to Shirley and Frances (Barker) Seely in High River, Alberta, Canada.
LaVerna was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her faith sustained her through many trials. She had a testimony of her Savior and the truthfulness of the Gospel. She served in many callings but her favorite was to be in the Nursery. She was a good example of a faithful daughter of God.
She was a hard worker all her life. She would work more than one job to support her family. She was dedicated to being self-sufficient and taking care of her own. She worked for Beehive Clothing for 19 years before retiring in 2007. She was an amazing seamstress. She was always willing to share her talent by making wedding, baptism, and blessing dresses for many of her family and friends.
LaVerna was a true blue BYU fan. She loved to watch Cougar football and cheered as loud as anyone. She hardly ever missed the Days of '47 Parade. She was proud of her pioneer heritage. She loved to play card and board games with her family. She loved the Price is Right with Bob Barker. She cried the day Elvis Presley was married and the day he died.
Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family, especially her 11 grandchildren.
