Today we celebrate the life of a man who, in so many ways taught each of us how to celebrate life.
On July 1st, 1928 Ralph and Ruth Anderson welcomed their youngest son Monte Lamar Anderson into their family home in Aurora Utah. He was received into heaven by his parents and all of his siblings; Jeston and Donna Anderson, Veldon and Fern Anderson, Donna and Frank Johnson, and Foy Anderson (who died at the age of 4 years old). Throughout their lives the family was inseparable friends. To them the deer hunt was bigger than Christmas. We know that they were all anxiously awaiting his arrival for a grand reunion in heaven.
Monte knew how to live life to the fullest in every stage. He graduated from South Savier High School in 1946. Later that year he met the love of his life Barbara Salmon. They were sealed for eternity on November 7th 1947 in the Manti Utah LDS Temple and spent 67 wonderful years together. Their love story is a righteous example to all those who knew them.
As a father he offered all he had to his children. Gloria and Richard Casper, Robin and Randy Farnes, Jill and Louis Shell, Bret and Lisa Anderson, and MaryJo and Michael Taylor. He taught them how to work, how to play and how to celebrate life.
Monte worked nearly 50 years at Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company. After retiring Monte and Barbara became ordinance workers at the Provo Utah Temple for 5 years. They later were called to serve on the Navaho Indian Reservation in Chinli Arizona. They served tirelessly and faithfully together for one year.
Monte and Barbara were surrounded by a large, loud and loving family. He leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way. He lived his life in service to them! His time was spent making their lives better. He provided the toys the laughs and the memories!
"To all of those that think of me, Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I'm missin', Just tell 'em I've gone fishin'"
