Miriam Keith Sayer, 59, returned to her Father in Heaven on July 10, 2015 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after a brief struggle with aggressive cancer.
Miriam was born on September 7, 1955 in Provo, Utah to J. Allan and Maxine Davis Keith. She was the fifth of eight children and from the moment she was born, brought joy and sunlight to everyone around her.
She attended grade school at Edgemont and Rock Canyon elementary in Provo, Farrer Junior High, and graduated from Provo High in 1973. She also attended Brigham Young University. Throughout her school years, Miriam excelled as a gymnast and competed in many local and state events receiving numerous individual and team awards. She also later taught gymnastics.
Miriam loved the gospel and when she was 14, was chosen as the Outstanding Girl in the Provo Stake. Miriam enjoyed her service in the church throughout her life and served in many callings including Camp Director, Relief Society Teacher, Visiting Teacher and others. She also worked for many years at Valtek (Flowserve) and other local businesses.
Miriam married Robert Sayer in South Jordan, Utah in 1980. Together they had two wonderful children, Linsey and John Robert. They are the joy of her life.
Miriam is survived by her husband, Robert of Springville, two children, Linsey (Dan) Nelson of Misawa, Japan, John Robert of Springville; four step children Misty (Corey) of Saratoga Springs, Justin of Springville, Stacy (Jake) of Spanish Fork, Jodi (Steve) of Twin Falls, Idaho; and was grandmother to 13 grandchildren, Tyler, Arrianne, Maquel, Jordyn, Colton, Shalyea, Chayse, Anthony, Danielle, Rayce, Avie Jo, and Gavin, her mother, Maxine D. Keith, siblings David (Melanie) Keith, Jeffrey (Brooke) Keith, Martha (David) Lewis, Penrod (Cheryl) Keith, Eric (Jennifer) Keith, and Rebecca (Paul) Pixton. She is preceded in death by her father and her older brother Jay.
Miriam will forever be remembered for her compassion and concern for everyone she met. All who knew her considered her a true friend. She was kind, patient, charitable and loving and a great example of selfless service. She loved poetry and was very artistic. Most of all, she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Springville, Utah, at the Spring Creek 12th Ward chapel, 235 East 550 North. Friends are invited to viewings Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wheeler Mortuary in Springville, 211 East 200 South or Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM at the chapel prior to the services. Interment will be at Provo City Cemetery. We will miss you, Miriam.
