Miriam Sutton Raddon Freeborn passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. Miriam was born November 20, 1926 in Alhambra, California to Emma Sutton and Lawrence Harold Raddon. She had a wonderful childhood, growing up with her younger sister, Susie.
Miriam attended Ramona Elementary School, Alhambra, and Whittier College, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. Her love of children inspired her to become a kindergarten teacher.
On July 7, 1945, Miriam married her high school sweetheart, Robert Freeborn. They were married 66 years and had four children, Craig, Robin, Donna, and Brian, 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, with three great-grandchildren expected this year.
Miriam was active in the Order of Eastern Star. In 1970, Miriam was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Gospel. Her favorite callings were Primary teacher and Primary president. Miriam loved her association with her Relief Society sisters. She also loved being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Miriam's greatest legacy is her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have been blessed to know and love her.
