Miles Stephens Decker passed away November 5, 2022 at the age of 82 after several years of deteriorating health. Miles was born on September 24, 1940 in Cedar City, Utah to Thomas Alvin and Verena Stephens Decker. He was the fourth of five children.
Miles was a member of the Utah Army National guard. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States Mission. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1965 with a bachelor's degree in Business. While attending BYU, Miles met Kathryn Christensen on a blind date. They were married on December 20, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for almost 59 years.
Miles was a devoted husband and father and was committed to providing a faith-filled home for his family. His personable personality served him well in his work as a Sales Representative in the Data Forms industry. He did carpentry work on the side. He served diligently in a variety of church callings. He was always helping others. He was lighthearted and especially loved telling jokes.
Miles is survived by his wife Kathryn and his five children: Kristine Marsh (Mark), Lisa Hill (Jared), Steven Decker (Sharon), Brian Decker (Jamilah) and Janeen Donat (Tyler); 20 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and his sister, Susan Hunt.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the church building located at 1068 South 1600 West, Mapleton, Utah. Prior to the service there will be a viewing starting at 10:00am. The interment will be at the Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery in Provo.
