Michell (Hurst) Osborn

Our beloved Michell Hurst Osborn passed away on April 30, 2018 with her sweetheart Mike by her side.  She was born August 30, 1960 to Robert Dean and Bernetta Cazier Hurst and was the fourth of five daughters. She grew up and lived most of her life in Mapleton, Utah and graduated from Springville High School.

She married Michael (Mike) Osborn in 1981. He was the love of her life and her best friend. They have three children: Desere’, Justin (deceased), and Haze. They settled in Mapleton to raise their family and pursue their interests in animals - especially horses - and living a country life.

Some of the things she loved the most were riding horses, helping her family with horse endurance races, training dogs, having friends and family over for visits in the backyard, family parties, photography, and spending time with Mike. She and Mike loved traveling around the country with Mike’s work. She especially enjoyed Nashville, Orlando, and Big Flat. But it didn’t really matter where they went, they just enjoyed being together.

Among her greatest joys were her grandchildren: Keston, Davin, Briggin, Grayson, Annie, Katie, and Eli. She was so proud of them. They were the light of her life and she loved spending time with them.

Michell loved people and people loved her. She was always making new friends. She worked for Nebo School District as a secretary and made many treasured friends of her coworkers and students.  She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many positions.

She became ill at the end of her life and developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and HLH. She loved life and put up a valiant fight. Her family is so proud of her and will miss her deeply.

She is survived by her husband Mike; her children Desere’ (Dillon) Atwood and Haze (Rachel) Osborn; her grandchildren; her mother Bernetta Hurst; her sisters Sherra Lyn Westover, Marlene (Dean) Vest, Rozlin (Chris) Mecham, and Lynette Schultz; Mike’s siblings Paula (Paul) Nelson, Greg (Kristine)Osborn, Talene Osborn, Russell (Julie) Osborn, and Jeff (Brenda) Osborn; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Robert Hurst; her son Justin; and Mike’s parents, Robert and Iris Osborn.

Services will be held on Friday, May 4 at 1:00 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah. Friends may visit Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and prior to the services on Friday at 12:00 PM at the Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W 200 N, Mapleton, Utah.
