Melvin's permanent fishing trip has begun. You can find him "attempting" to tie his own flies and chasing or getting pulled down the river by a big one...If you listen carefully to the wind you'll hear him speaking the lessons of life from a perspective few of us have the courage to experience. Melvin's lessons will be missed because he was honest, raw and unafraid to speak his mind. He was the most loyal and loving man a family and community could ask for. If you had the pleasure of getting to really know Melvin, your heart aches today.
When Melvin wasn't bragging to his children and grandchildren about his fishing and hunting he was busy loving and doting on his beautiful wife Luetta. He was always making her jewelry and trinkets or simply working around the house. They shared a wonderful life together and raised three strong, accountable, and dependable children. Quality children. As Melvin aged two things really grew in importance and were at the forefront of his mind. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and they loved being around him. He had a remarkable way of loving and teaching them. His other love was The Lord and The Gospel of Jesus Christ. He became devoted to each calling that The Lord entrusted him, which he magnified in whatever aspect or responsibility that came his way. Melvin brought to The Gospel and his home Ward the joys and excitement of holiday ties, crazy colored suits and a contagious smile. Melvin excelled at creating fantastic Halloween themed decorations for his bus, which won him the bus decorating contest in the Nebo School District several years in a row He was also a master taxidermist and spider and critter exterminator. The remnants of which assisted in his bus decorating skills! Great caution was needed when opening the garage freezer as there were often frozen snakes, birds, and spiders there to greet you
On Thursday, please wear your bright colored shirts or crazy ties in memory of Melvin. Pay Melvin's spirit forward.
