Megan Danielle Mortensen-Willden is survived by her mother,LoriAnn Mortensen and father, Michael Clair Willden, as well as six siblings, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Upon passing Megan is reunited with her Grandfather Ralph Mortensen.
Megan, known to her family as Megies, was a happy girl with a personality all her own. She was colorful, vibrant, and energetic. Family meant everything to Megan. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She spent most of her time as any 16 year old girl would, hanging out with friends, learning to drive, and spending quality time
with family.
Megan's life, although short, was filled with so many moments of joy, and laughter as well as a time of tremendous trial and struggle. One year ago, on the 11th of January 2011, Megan was diagnosed with A.L.L (Leukemia), a severe strain of cancer that
targets the bone marrow, beginning a long chapter in this 15 - year old's life. Although the news of leukemia was an outstanding blow, Megan was a fighter and nothing was going to stand in her way. Through treatment after reatment, followed by changes in her body, physically, mentally and emotionally, Megan refused to let anything hold her down. She was able to make light of an otherwise overwhelming situation, and became a foundation of strength for her mother who was devastated with the news.
ln the midst of this overwhelming change in her life, thanks to the help of Springville High School and Make A Wish Foundation, Megan was honored for her struggle and
allowed to make one wish. Out of all the things that could have been asked for "l Just want to be with my family" Megan said, and asked that her family accompany her on a trip to California to ride horses on the beach!
After a year long struggle, one month from fulfilling her wish, and one treatment away from full remission, Megan lost a long-lasting battle with Leukemia.
Megan is remembered for her unsurpassed love for all those she knew, and for showing a side to life that is yet to be seen by most.
Megan is loved very much and her memory will forever be carried along in our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
